Rinah Rachel Galper is the sole proprietor of Joyoushout, creating new pathways of power and possibility by working for change at the intersection of justice, healing, spirituality, and creativity. Through its four branches of service- Coaching, Classes, Consulting, and Community- Joyoushout supports the creation of and connection between communities and individuals actively engaged in making microcosms of the world we wish to live in. Rinah is a proud member of the Open Path Healing Arts Collective, the Socially Responsible Coaching Alliance, and a member of the board of Stand Up-Speak Out (SUSO NC), fighting to end sexual assault and domestic violence through advocacy, prevention training, group therapy, mentoring and healing Thru Art.
Rinah Rachel brings decades of training, lived and shared experience, life-long learning, and recovery to her work for personal and collective healing and transformation. She is a veteran educator, writer, healer and spiritual guide, artist, activist, group facilitator, and community connector. Rinah was raised and mentored by countless freedom fighters, educators, healers, and creatives, beginning with her mother of blessed memory, who instilled in her a lifelong passion for love, life, and liberation, and a deep connection with our ancestors who continue to guide us. She is an ordained clergy member, licensed teacher with a Master’s in education and a BA in Latin American Affairs and Women's Studies, and certified end of life doula, nature guide, and Reiki master. Rinah currently lives in Durham, North Carolina with her wife, family, and friends, having moved from New York in 2006 in order to deepen her social change, healing, creative, and spiritual work. Prior to creating Our Sacred Circles in 2018 (now the community branch of Joyoushout) and Joyoushout in 2020, Rinah worked as a clergy member and healing arts practitioner, group facilitator and trainer, licensed special education and enrichment teacher, DEI consultant, coach, and caregiver. She now weaves these strands together in her work with clients, independently and in collaboration with others, through Broad Spectrum Coaching for youth and adults navigating transitions and trauma, JEDI Consulting to white-led groups seeking to become more justice driven, Enrichment Classes for change makers of all ages, and Community events and gatherings held virtually and at “the Spot”, Joyoushout’s new gathering space in Durham. Current Joyoushout initiatives include working under the leadership of the Beloved Community Center in Greensboro to create a Truth, Justice, and Reconciliation Commission chapter in Durham/Chapel Hill, coordinating the Joyoushout Community Support Collective, and hosting ongoing gatherings, events, and retreats. Ongoing gatherings include the Women’s Wisdom Circle, the OSC Writers Circle and the upcoming Spiritual Leaders Support Circle.
